Fiend-ing for some zine-ing

On Sunday in Somerville zinesters will meet at the Washington Street Art Center between 2 and 6 for the Spring Zine Thing. I want to go because I want zines. They’re quirky, quick collections of photographs and blurbs and that’s awesome.

This event let’s you purchase, trade, and even make your own zine. Zines include, but aren’t limited to (they’re still accepting issues) works from local artists, musicians and writers on topics ranging from cooking, comedy, eclectic, whimsical, and horrific illustrations and photographs, think pieces on relativism, and environmental issues.

I went through the list of expectancies and I’ve picked a few favorites. If you go, look for the photos in No Thoughts, the recipes in Easy Jaws, and illustrations in Miss Sequential. Support local artists by purchasing Zombie Romance, or a national movement with i left this here for you to read.

Looking for more info or directions? Search for the Spring Zine Thing in your Facebook browser, where you can find the event page.
